Drilling Underway at Treasure Mountain

Vancouver, BC, September 22, 2008 - Trade Winds Ventures Inc. (TSX-V: TWD, FSE: TVR) is pleased announce that diamond drilling is underway on its wholly owned Treasure Mountain Copper project located in the Terrace area of British Columbia, Canada.

Diamond drilling is underway on the Purdex Zone targets where historical drilling intersected 53 feet (16.2 metres) grading 2.11 % copper (non 43-101 compliant data). The 2008 field program on the Treasure Mountain Copper project is designed to follow up the historical data at the Purdex Zone and to continue work on the Danee Zone where disseminated copper mineralization was discovered in 2007.  Exploration is also planned for the Trail Zone from which a 2006 trench sample returned 1.72% copper and 23.4 g/t gold.

At the Danee Zone, a 145m thick permeable layer of volcanic sediments is host to disseminated copper mineralization that was the subject of initial trenching last season. The 2008 program of trenching has begun, focusing on outlining the size and mineralization of this zone.  Diamond drilling is planned for 2008 or early 2009 based on trench results.

In addition, prospecting has started on the adjacent Treasure Mountain North property, acquired in 2007, targeting known historical copper and gold showings.
Mr. Alex Burton, P. Eng., P. Geo., is the project manager for the Treasure Mountain property, and the material in this news release has been prepared and reviewed by Stephen Wallace, P. Geo, VP Exploration, a Qualified Person as defined by NI 43-101.  Trade Winds, as operator of these projects, has implemented a quality control program to ensure best practice in the sampling and analysis of the drill core.  All fire assay results are being provided by ALS Chemex.
